We don’t need to choose. We can address several at once. That’s the point of intersectionality.

Racism is a foundational evil in the world and the US that affects countless aspects of politics, daily life, the way people think & the way people interact, even when it seems like it’s not present. It’s incumbent on white people to destroy it. It’s still not the only social factor that exists. 🤷

You are one of the cruelest, most dismissive, most ignorant bullies I’ve met on this platform and I bet you think you’re doing important work by defending establishment democrats from a single piece of criticism. You are clearly not worth continuing this with. Log off and go to bed.

Conservative media put an enormous, record breaking amount of money into Spanish-language content last cycle. Democrats largely took Latinos’ votes for granted and didn’t treat them as something worth working for, at least comparatively.
December 17, 2025 at 5:24 AM
I mean yeah, racism is a foundation of a huge amount of the evil in the world and most of it in the USA. But it’s not like sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and yes, classism, aren’t factors. I mean I’ve seen white people be jaw-droppingly cruel to other white people plenty of times.
December 17, 2025 at 5:22 AM
Speaking for some of the people I know: some of their needs are labor protections, huge chunks of their paychecks not going to rent, childcare, access to healthcare, access to education. They also tend to be low-info voters whose idea of both candidates were way off. Yes there’s racism/sexism too.
December 17, 2025 at 5:19 AM
I think Latinos are a great example of a reachable voting bloc that didnt vote or went trump in ‘24. If we write them off as unreachable we can’t do anything, but if we listen to their needs and how each candidate came across, we can learn a lot of policy and communication.

Again, I’ve voted for every Dem candidate since I was 18. I genuinely believe that a more effective Democratic Party could reduce racism by fixing the underlying problems that R’s exploit to scapegoat minorities.
Fascists scapegoat minorities for problems created by billionaires. They say their labor is devalued b/c of DEI or they’re alienated from their communities because of trans people or they can’t buy a house b/c of immigrants. If we could fix the real source of their problems they couldn’t scapegoat.
December 17, 2025 at 4:57 AM
I do, Maria. If you’d read my other posts I’ve voted democrat my whole life. Of course white people have a racism problem. That doesn’t mean Kamala Harris (or Biden or even Obama) is above criticism. I want them to win and I want my working class friends to thrive. And they’re mostly Latino fwiw.
December 17, 2025 at 4:45 AM
You are unbelievable. I want democrats to win, as I’ve said many times. I think that criticizing insufficient democrats is a lot more helpful to that goal than defending them from any criticism. I want Dems to be better so they can win, but also so my friends can actually thrive when Trump’s gone.
December 17, 2025 at 4:42 AM
I agree with you on all points and would add two words to the end: “push them on policy if they win _or lose._” I think we can work separately to educate voters while also pushing the Dem party to better reach people. We can burn both sides of the candle
December 17, 2025 at 4:35 AM
I’m not saying that ending racism wouldn’t contribute to a more just world on a class scale. Historically the white working class has been turned on racialized workers to undercut solidarity etc. But a unified working class would still need to work to equalize wealth with billionaires.
December 17, 2025 at 4:30 AM
Yes you&I agree on this. That’s why I voted for Harris (&Biden&Clinton) even when I’ve been frustrated by them. That’s separate from my belief that we can learn from the failures of the campaign if we evaluate what it is that we can control. A bunch of voters made a poor decision. What do we do now?
December 17, 2025 at 4:24 AM
I appreciate you saying that. I think there’s a way for us to mutually understand each other. We have the same goals.
December 17, 2025 at 4:20 AM
They are a thousand percent gettable! It’s so much easier to throw up our hands than to listen to the experience of actual people who aren’t as engaged in Dem politics as you two! As us three! People are out here disengaged and suffering and they’re offered a pittance! We can reach them!
December 17, 2025 at 4:18 AM
Oh my god, lady. My friend group is a thousand times more vulnerable than you are to the consequences of Harris losing. They’re equally 1000x more vulnerable to the consequences of Dems’ insufficient support of the working class. They can’t even fucking vote! Try to pretend like you care!
December 17, 2025 at 4:15 AM
It’s probably because my phone’s in Spanish/my bluesky’s in Spanish . It gives me the same prompt for you but for English. Did you see my other reply?
December 17, 2025 at 4:12 AM
You misunderstood me. I never said Democrats scapegoat minorities.

No, there’d be a lot more work to do to fix racism. But it’s one thing we could do to disempower fascists.

Equally, fixing racism wouldn’t fix the worst wealth inequality in hundreds of years. We need an intersectional approach
December 17, 2025 at 4:10 AM
I’m in Nicaragua right now. I speak Spanish+my phone’s in Spanish. It’s one of the reasons I care so much about fascism, because I see both the danger my immigrant friends are in and how underserved they are even under Dem leadership (of course Trump is worse). They are exclusively working class.
December 17, 2025 at 4:06 AM
Washington. A little bit south of Olympia. Is the implication here that I’m a bot or a Russian or something? Is it that hard for you to believe that someone holds views that are different from yours?
December 17, 2025 at 4:00 AM
Fascists scapegoat minorities for problems created by billionaires. They say their labor is devalued b/c of DEI or they’re alienated from their communities because of trans people or they can’t buy a house b/c of immigrants. If we could fix the real source of their problems they couldn’t scapegoat.
December 17, 2025 at 3:58 AM
You are hopeless. I’m not defending fascist voters, I’m being clear-eyed about the need to evaluate the aspects under our control in order to get a better outcome in the future. I want fascism to lose. I want to protect trans rights and immigrant rights and diversity in the fucking workplace.
December 17, 2025 at 3:54 AM
Ok. You are clearly invested in twisting my words and fundamentally misunderstanding my point, not to mention winding me up. I want to defeat fascism and we can do so by providing a stronger alternative that addresses people’s needs without scapegoating minorities. That’s all.
December 17, 2025 at 3:49 AM
By treating the moment with the urgency it deserved? By using all the powers he had available to him? Idk I wouldn’t be surprised if there were some horseshit in there somewhere, care to educate me?
December 17, 2025 at 3:43 AM
Yes! Jesus Christ you are a dismissive person
