Heads up, Houston Blusky-ers! Storms are ripping across parts of Montgomery/NW Harris Co. moving around 40 mph with lightning, heavy downpours and even some pea size hail. Storms should pass within 30 min max.

Low end chance (but still not zero) that this thingy ramps up to a short-lived tropical depression before landfall near Brownsville Fri. afternoon. Beefed up tropical downpours for us Friday through Sat. afternoon. No wash out but more widespread rain chances for sure.

Morning, Houston area skyers! Guess what? Gonna be HOT today and tomorrow for the holiday (shocker ...) I do have a small chance of a quick downpour around 4-5p today otherwise, be safe in this rather disrespectful heat!

HURRICANE FORECAST: The National Hurricane Center just released their 2025 forecast. They're projecting a 60% chance of an ABOVE average season.

We're officially on the tropical clock in 10 days as the season begins next Sunday, June 1st. Have questions? Hit me with 'em!

The Topo Chico bottle has most certainly popped along the coast this morning. Do NOT head out if you're in Galveston for the next hour, let this move into Louisiana by 8-9a.

TORNADO WATCH: SE Texas peeps! Be careful out there this afternoon, we just got put under a Tornado Watch through 4pm. There's more spin to the sky today so any storm that erupts could start to spin quickly.

TGIF! We're expecting storms to fire up this afternoon soon after 1-2pm. These will go strong to severe quickly with a ton of lightning, strong winds, even some hail! Slow movers too, so expect easily an inch of rain or more in less than an hour so some minor street flooding is possible.

ICYMI- The "Topo Chico" lid kept the storms away this morning but it'll eventually pop and when it does ... BOOM goes the dynamite! (Look that up on the Google, IYKYK). Storms could get aggressive tomorrow evening, BUT, the weekend is looking good, drying out Sat. and a comfy, sunny Sunday!

Careful out there this morning, my Houston area peeps! The cold front is stuck on top of us and storms are drenching across much of 59 near Kingwood/IAH and south into Ft. Bend Co. 1-3" of rain in less than 3 hours!

So ... if you don't have to leave the house this morning, don't. It's disrespectfully COLD this morning!
