Next week at the #GSA2025, I'll be presenting my newly developed Python tool, 𝒑𝒚𝑪𝒐𝒓𝒆𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓. We apply it to quantitatively re-examine the correlatability of Cascadia deep-water turbidites, previously interpreted as synchronous deposits of paleo-earthquakes.

Off-road vehicles racing through Chile's Atacama Desert have destroyed ancient geoglyphs over decades of competitions. Authorities have been unable to stop them. The images of the damage are striking.

Desert Racers Demolish Art Carved by Ancient People in Chile
Preservationists say governments at all levels have failed to prevent authorized and illegal off-road racers from driving through giant figures of animals, humans and objects.

Confession: I don't use *any* reference manager. I've tried various ones numerous times over the years, but nothing stuck. I just get it done. When I told some grad students this recently they looked at me like I was an alien. But, hey, papers get submitted, papers get published, I'm fine with it.
Question for people who use reference software like Zotero. Let's say you have 4 papers from the same author, but the citations for those papers use different numbers of initials. So for example, a paper by Sylvia M. Johnson might be SM Johnson in one ref, and S Johnson in another. 1/2
