Also important to note that this “5%” will in part be met by increasing military’s pay/salary, which is overdue and will help alleviate the inability of retaining the enlisted staff — right now we are losing a lot of military enlisted over salaries, and failing to convert people who are interested.
The outrage some are expressing over Carney committing “5%” to defense spending under the new agreement with Europe is because the story isn’t being reported as clearly as it should be.
