Writer and ttrpg designer. Joined blue-sky to find more positivity in creative pursuits and just life in general. I love sushi on rainy days, listening to game soundtracks while I tinker, and snuggling my two cats when times are rough.
Shared background art is so awesome. These are the best two I've got so far; the holo effects make them really nice to look at😄

Everyone's said most of the ones that came to mind, but you could try eating a carb heavy meal shortly before bed like pasta since that tends to knock me out even when I'm not tired.

I'm always excited when my artist sends me an update on a project, and often they just pull these absolutely brilliant visual ideas to communicate my ideas way better than I even envisioned.

One of the first table-tops I ever played involved a character flaw system that was really fun and engaging- including those kind of things mechanically is brilliant

Those color choices are awesome; blue to yellow is such a pleasing scheme

I think the author's final point is inspiring, to always take an optimistic approach when playing and learning from games. Definitely a good read overall 💙

I ended up figuring out curves by hand before I found out about AnyDice to do the math for me, I never had much in the way of a technical education in regards to game design. I think the article sums up the player's desire for well thought out game decisions and to avoid simply being derivative.

Ah, unfortunately most of the topics covered in this article are things I've already learned, but thanks for sharing. I've been tinkering with ttrpg mechanics for about 16ish years now, and the most fun for me was figuring out the math for various things.

I'm a sucker for pixel art and this is one of the coolest I've seen in a while! I'm always blown away by just how much detail artists can get out with such limited working space.

That's a great point! I'm starting to get excited about putting my work out there, but I'm not sure what to start with. Lore, mechanics, the design process, or maybe something else? Thanks for the all the advice 💙

Not settled on if I'm printing physical yet, but this still hits. My only worry in sharing showcasing my work online is that I'm inconsistent- sometimes I work on it for weeks straight, and other times I spend weeks away. I fear that updating sporadically would do more damage to interest than help.
