The fact they need to put this out is interesting. It shows they realize they can’t act with impunity (so keep it up) but I also wonder if this sets the stage for making Elon the fall guy when he inevitably overstays his welcome (“we had no idea…”)
It gets worse: Trump's Treasury Dept has a new letter spinning Musk's access to payment data as a mere "audit" that expands on work done during Biden admin. It's a sham. The letter simply ignores the biggest questions about this scandal.
