Has anyone asked Eagle Ed if he’s the NYT source? The weird story brings to mind his bitter tirade against DC officials when he wasn’t confirmed.

I’m really not sure.
Are we saying that the at-large members could take turns winning Democratic primaries, then denying a party affiliation, then becoming registered Democrats again in time for the next primary? That seems incompatible with the statute.
