Just a bird minding his own business. No, I am not taking any questions. In every moment therein lies the Eternal moment of Pascha that illumines all things. ☦️☯️

One of the few things I dislike about being Orthodox. is that people keep posting dumb articles like this about my church. Implying Orthodoxy is better because it’s more “masculine” is the epitome of foolishness.
Young men leaving traditional churches for ‘masculine’ Orthodox Christianity in droves

How I feel about potatoes and salt
As a philosopher I’m not afraid to speak the truth: Pumpkin pie functions as a mere vehicle for whipped cream. In this way, it is no better than a spoon.

If we want better fashion culture in the US, we have to lower the cost of housing and commercial real estate, support independent craftspeople, build denser neighborhoods, improve walkability, and get rid of overly restrictive zoning laws. Let kook culture thrive.

Am I the only one who primarily uses the “Subscriptions” tab of YouTube? Most people I talk to IRL only use the FYP which I only check like once a week.

Reminded of this since I’m rereading it atm:

You can’t both like The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran and dislike Christianity at the same time unless you’re drastically misunderstanding one.

Art is really important for humanity but in ways companies literally can't understand. It does things they can't do. It's like an angel standing in front of them with a sword and they can't see it. Fascinating.

Easy way to solve this: if you submit a paper that has hallucinated ChatGPT references in it, you're done. Cooked. Your career is over. You never get published again.
Professor Caught Using ChatGPT When Scientific Paper Was Full of Errors
A biologist was shocked to find his name was mentioned several times in a scientific paper, which references papers that simply don't exist.

One of my most controversial positions is probably that I am pro-obscurantism. I enjoy how the intentional impenetrability of such texts forces the subjectiveness of interpretation that is inherent in reading into the limelight, free from the illusory guise of clarity.

Is it a hot take to say that I don’t believe companies should necessarily be worried about the social outcomes of their actions? 🤔

We do too much to try and rehabilitate the capitalist forms of organization. Why not take them at their word of being profit generating machines for shareholders.
