That said, it's mostly still BY the FGC. Many people in positions that may look powerful from the outside didn't want this; many fought internally against it and/or had it sprung on them after the fact. I hope they'll be able to preserve much of who we are & were at Evo. If anyone can, it's them

For a long time I felt that the FGC was doing a good job of incorporating esports in our own way without losing too much of ourselves. But in more recent years, well, you see the news today. A major chunk of FGC esports has in significant ways become something else for someone else
