OMG--This reminds me of my teaching days, when I would work with the most challenging (often bullying) student in the class by having them be in charge of something super important. It's amazing how much of a shift can happen. But then, I'm talking about actual human children here.

I taught elementary school for 30 years and there were times I had students turn every writing prompt into something about Minecraft, Yu-gi-oh or Pikachu. A child hears the news of Pearl Harbor on the radio? Oh look--there's Charmander! Meh. I was glad they used paragraphs and quotation marks.

It was always the story of Solomon, with the repubs perfectly willing to cut the baby in half, no matter what. There was never any intent to give in. Not saying the Dems shouldn’t have held out longer, but when the other side doesn’t give a shit, I don’t know what the right answer is.

It was always a “Solomon” situation, with the repubs (Tr*mp) more than willing to cut the baby in half rather than give in. I’m not surprised the dems blinked. Though I’m not saying they should have, It was only ever a matter of time.

Absolutely--I barely can. I'm just saying that if we're expected to pay (whatever amount) into healthcare, it'd be better if the end result was that it funded healthcare for all.
