46yo pain chronic and "cat lady" - but with dogs!

Sad weekend in the cottage! Uncle BigBrother, Basse, passed away defiantly while waiting at the vet to be put to sleep. Dachshunds will never follow the rules!

I can't WAIT for Hundinis teen period to be over!!!! In like 12-18 months time ... I've lost count of all the puddles of pee I've cleaned up and how much money I've spent on exploding dog beds!

Turning 16 is rough! Especially with all the guests, love and treats!
Luckily my boy was up for it and had the most amazing day. I was just happy that I wasn't suffering alone the next day, he looked like a major case of hangovers too!

It can be hard to relate to how bad American police is when all you know is the Danish police.
They just posted about a call about a dude burying a box in the state woods and went to investigate. It turned out to contain 6 Tuborg Easter brews and was a redneck beer fridge. They buried them again.

My little Hundini wakes up skinny every morning and then goes to bed as fat as a fois gras goose!
That's probably why he's growing so much that at 17 weeks he can't really be Basses little spoon any longer - but he'll squeeze in anyway.
His beard fuzz is starting to grow too!

As predicted, he's gotten used to being in my dress/bra and is now demanding "upsies" when he wants to cuddle and nap and I'm fine with it. So fine, actually, that we're getting a baby/kangaroo pouch to carry him in, for now using a belt.

But Hundini? Either this is the best of the beds OR he's snuggling up to her because she's in heat. Usually he naps closer to Basse.

I lost a close friend today, suddenly and way too early. I've written a eulogy that has made more than 50 ppl cry extra hard today and still, I'm just numb.
Until I remembered his last visit. He was the first I asked if getting a third dog "early" to give Basse a bit of a break was a good idea.

There's no happiness like when your independent puppy comes asking to be picked up. Not to be rescued from his over-eager basset mom but just because he'd like to snuggle on your chest again and perhaps sleep a little bit while getting cuddles!
