Wait… really? Link?

I mean that’s the lying part. Nearly every cabinet pick is just bullshitting out of both ends to align what they say with Trumps verbal diarrhea.

I’m not convinced he’s an idiot considering his prior stances on Tariffs before he was in Trump’s orbit. I’m more convinced that he is a power hungry liar.

I mean- scams are good business until either the rug is pulled or you get caught. This report is not related to how factual NewsMax is.

Trump likes signing things so much, he would sign his own death warrant if it was put in front of him.

That’s actually debatable- yard
sizes normally find themselves regulated at the local level, and people who want connivence ( ie short travel to anything), can not realistically have a large lawn at the same time. As the bigger spaces between buildings mean less buildings are built.

You clearly never heard of the principle of induced demand. Increasing the size of highways doesn’t reduce traffic- it increases it. When people pay for the heavily subsidized auto-dependency then they tend to start finding alternatives.
March 29, 2025 at 9:19 PM
It’s not so simple. If you can afford a car you have money, parking is subsidized. 99% of it is free. Why do the really poor have to pay for a bus ride or a bike, when the really rich get parking for free?

Our massive car dependency is subsidized. Toll roads will reverse the induced demand.

It seems here they’re often doing the right thing for the wrong reasons, requiring nearby municipalities to add stoplights and reduce speed limits is actually a good thing and increases safety even if it’s done to increase profit on the toll road.
March 29, 2025 at 1:45 PM
As a person who is an urbanist hobbyist and wants more sustainable infrastructure that pays for itself, what’s wrong with toll roads?

If Trump loses enough support to the point where he finally loses that dark magic he has over his followers, we might finally be in a reality where impeachment is possible. There will continue to be some diehard supporters , but we just need to peel off a fraction of his voter base.

There is going to be a lot of disagreement with you on this, but it is the strategic thing to do.

She ran extremely well with what she got. But we still needed the dog & pony show that a primary would have given. It would have brought in a feeling of legitimacy.

Though it’s kind of pointless to argue about, it’s alternate history at this point.
March 27, 2025 at 11:25 PM
That argument ran hollow. The show & dance of a swift primary would probably have done more help than harm. It also would have realigned Harris more to the policies the voters wanted instead of the DNC feeling like republican lite.
March 27, 2025 at 9:46 PM
I think that if she was such an obvious candidate, then the little show & dance of a primary would have proved it. Just the act of a primary even if was merely symbolic would have nullified the argument that voters weren’t given a choice.
