Meet Cubby! While he may be missing one and a half of his back feet don't think he isn't just as mobile as any other cat! He's a big mischievous sweetie who loves snacking, snoozing, and ack-acking at birds. Why bother having social media if I can't show him off?

NYT publisher AG Sulzberger tells the newsroom that he expects the @nytguildtech.bsky.social strike to continue through the election.

Newsroom and Opinion colleagues, As you can see from Meredith's note, our colleagues in the Tech Guild have decided today to strike. It is likely this will continue at least through the election. While I'm disappointed by this decision, I want to emphasize to all of you that we have robust plans in place to ensure that our essential journalism still reaches our readers. Hundreds of millions of people are depending on The Times's journalism on Election Day and afterward, and it is troubling that the Tech Guild would try to block this public service at such a consequential moment for our country. As I mentioned last week, elections bring our mission into distinct focus. Hundreds of you have worked with care and diligence for months — in many cases, years — to provide our fellow citizens with the most trustworthy reporting and results to navigate this fiercely contested election and its aftermath. I am sorry that this action by the Tech Guild was designed to put all of this work at risk. We did not need to reach this point. We're committed to getting to a contract that both rewards our tech colleagues and keeps us on a financially responsible path — one that allows us to maintain our focus on advancing our journalistic mission. I believe our current offer reflects both goals. In the meantime, I want to offer my thanks for all you're doing to help The Times fulfill its important role in supporting our democracy. Please know you have the company's full support as we continue to relentlessly cover this election and everything that follows. AG
