The latches PIVOT which is weird & why our night visitor couldn't open it to realize there was nothing of value inside before dragging it off. Our display fully set up on Saturday at The Aud. These are the sorts of items that are inside - fabric, mostly, and some wood. Scott survived and didn't get kidnapped, fortunately, he's not nearly as replaceable :) even though all this stuff took hours and hours to make. It's replaceable 😮‍💨

Final count stopped at 160 "queer as in"s and embroidery didn't work out so I tried sublimation printing. Here they are!!!!! I love them ❤️‍🔥🙂‍↔️
8.4x14" white fabric printed with a rainbow (digitized version of the rainbow fabric from previous post) and 160 phrases printed on top which all start with "queer as in". Not enough room here to write them all out, sorry! :( image is mirrored because this was actually a misprint where I forgot to mirror the image before printing! Oopsie!

Stretching it over the side of my #SwiftDarner work surface helped (the threads were a little more visible, yet the groove left space for the latch hook to reach around) but this was still so silly to try lol
and not silly in a fun way 🧐 this was microscope work. Green rib knit held vertically on a wooden plank which you can see has a groove cut out of the side. Blue elastic keeping everything taut. White sewing thread holding the stitches that were just ladder-darned with a latch hook but there is still a hole visible. Pale hand and green background slightly out of focus.

Silly selfie Scott bombed into.
I wore all clothes I got from previous swaps or otherwise friends! Had a different shirt on when we started but it was hotttt in there 🥵 so I picked up this great handmade tee!
Elysha selfie in front of mirror in Kwartzlab textiles space. There's a lot going on in the pic but most notably Scott is blurry, walking past making a funny face that the camera managed to capture. Swapped 'fit is green tee (new today), black/white checkerboard skirt (used to be a cardigan), wool tights given to me full of holes (now mended), orange socks (also very mended)...and thrifted ~indoor shoes~. In the frame you can see a dress form, a floor loom, and a wall (plastered with sewing patterns to make an abstract brown pattern) covered in shelves of sewing machines, thread and other notions.

A blue plaid sleeve covered in white running stitch mends as well as two heart-shaped patches in red patterned fabric and outlined with thick red stitches. Repairing the left side of the sleeve is in progress, more white stitches stacked in curved lines. Same sleeve but on the left side there's now a new rectangular red patch outlined in thick white stitches! The red patterned fabric has sort of vaguely neuron/mushroom shapes laid out geometrically.
