A fantastic win yesterday for #BHAFC. It's just the 6th time in our history we've reached the quarter-finals. The first was in 1983, on our way to the final. We hosted #NCFC at the 6th round stage, winning 1-0. 3 years later we lost 2-0 to #SaintsFC seagullsprogrammes.co.uk

I went to this 'out there' friendly back in 1989,and have the programme.

The thing is, we've always passed the ball on the ground, certainly back to Brown & Stringer teams, probably Bond, too.
Clearances from keeper & defence were probably a bit more agricultural but those players were never trained/coached as technicians.

Yesterday marked the 80th anniversary of the deaths of this crew when their Lancaster crashed into Worthing beach, apparently trying to avoid the town. En route to Munich, after the incident only one body was recovered. The rest are commemorated @cwgc.bsky.social Runnymede Memorial.
