Twitterで、与党のバイト要員と思われる人がツイッターで色々言ってきたので、そのたびに説明をするも、「じゃぁ、これは?」「これは?」という絶賛Whataboutismなツイートを返してきて(言い返されるとぐうの音も出さずに別の話題をふって来る)、非常に興味深い生態系を確認した。そして、彼らは1ツイートいくらという報酬が出ているので、時間の無駄だと思い、放置することにした。「ご自由に、どうぞ?」ということにした。精神的自由権というものを彼は知らないようだ。嘆かわしい。

In Munich. Met my medievalist friend yesterday. Then this morning while eating breakfast -two fathers were speaking in Italian. Spoke to them as it was so random to see someone in Munich, speaking in Italian. Turns out they are medievalists. This city is full of medievalists now....

I’m saddened to hear of the death of Kurt Raaflaub. A lion in the field of Roman history and so very generous a champion of his students. It’s hard to sum up everything I owe him in the form of social media. But I’ll do my best with a few anecdotes.
