From people that I’ve talked to regarding forced rehabilitative drug counselling is that most studies find it ineffective. Addiction is a health concern and the government is now treating sick people like it’s a crime. Some people will benefit, but from what I understand it’s a bandaid at best.

NDP have been floundering for a long time. They are trying too hard to be a more compassionate version of the Liberal party when people are wanting to break the system.

Doesn’t sound like there is much there for policy, but he was great to listen to. I love his fight for working class, just hope he can be more well rounded as the campaign progresses.

You would have to go back to the 70’s to see a Saskatchewan provincial government that was able to balance the budget without either austerity measures or unsustainable windfall resource pricing.

I sure hope so. Last election they came close to winning, but their overall policy is to be a kinder version of neoliberalism. Better, but definitely not visionary or inspiring.

As I said, it comes down to whether the employer is exploiting the worker or not. Just because a business makes a training investment does not give them the right to exploit the worker. If the worker isn’t exploiting, I’m sure they have no problem staying.
