As the 9th RDW Conference comes to a close with final remarks led by Celeste Drake, Director General, ILO, we reflect on the insightful presentations and anticipate future research and policy changes in light of the work showcased

In an afternoon session today, Ceri Hughes outlined her paper on activation policies which aim to increase the amount of paid work people do

The paper simulated how time demands vary under different working conditions such as pay and hours

It shows a need for new approaches to promote decent work

Yesterday afternoon, Emma Hughes and Tony Dundon presented “The Organisation of Warehouse Work and Social Dialogue in the UK’s E-Commerce Fulfilment Sector”

This study compared UK SME e-commerce fulfilment centres to the sector-dominating Amazon in terms of work and employment practices
