Today I Learned that W.H.Smiths used to have a private paid library service. (I sometimes do Ebay for a charity bookshop & saw this bookplate in the front of a copy of "Brother to the Ox" when I was researching a pile of books to see if they were worth listing) @retroid.bsky.social

Spent the evening round a friends playing Ticket to Ride France (which seems like it'll be a bit tricky with more than 2 players), then saw a hedgehog on the way home. Photos are Terrible cause it was pitch black, but I could just about see it when I increased the gamma. @retroid.bsky.social

Played 3 games of Ticket to Ride Poland this evening & I don't think it's my favourite of all the versions I've played, but that could just be cause I lost all 3. Who knows? :)
Seems like it'd be a valid strategy to just do 2 short easy routes then ignore the tickets & link up countries for points.

Better version were I've trimed a few frames & got rid of the watermark... :)

I don't think I've ever seen you wear cords/corduroy, but maybe you only did it in private cause you were too embarrassed to wear it openly? (j/k, I used to have some cords & might even it worn them in public)

True, but there's some evidence it might've been invented far earlier & was originally used as a general purpose device, before people discovered it could also be used to control a tv. (pictured is a small early design, but later models could be several yards long & needed their own rests/stands)

Just finished Keeper. That has to be one of the strangest & most beautiful games I've ever played. (haven't posted any screenshots from chapter 2 or 3 to avoid spoilers)

Mate bought 3 Ticket to Ride expansions (Old West/France, Poland & India/Switzerland) so we played Old West this evening. Very similar to the base game, but you can only build from your home city or onto an existing bit of track, which complicates things. Played 3 & won the last game by quite a lot.

Just saw a fox. I was putting the bin out before bed & it was sitting on the pavement fairly near the front door. (far enough away to feel safe) Waited for me to go & get my phone then let me take pics, then backed off when I put the bin out, but came back when I went back in. @retroid.bsky.social

I can't help but think platforming as a giant walking lighthouse would be a little bit easier if I had more of an idea were my lighthouse was in 3D space. Maybe if it cast a slightly more of a shadow on the ground?

Spent the evening playing Ticket to Ride Pennsylvania. Won the first game by a good margin, then the next two went to hell 'cause everyone was getting in each other's way. As they tend to in Ticket to Ride unless you get lucky with your routes...
