Most worrying for the region, there are several instances of weird stones set in concrete, as in the pic below. This is also used in Eugene, and is a serious tripping hazard for pedestrians, on top of reducing the available space for walking.

Springfield, Oregon, recently rebuilt .7 miles of Mill St with curb-level, one-way bike lanes. But for some reason, less than half the length of the street has the protected lanes — most of it is just painted lanes. Garbage infra like this won’t convince anyone to bike instead of driving.

Transit in Los Angeles is slow, confusing, and unreliable. But some of their buses have wifi at least!

This my entry into #carryshitolympics unfortunately. Grateful that my Sirrus bike rack held despite massively exceeding the max weight 😰 what do other cargo bikers who live in trash-strewn, tweaker-infested towns do when they get a flat?

Has your city systematically ignored sidewalk maintenance until all that’s left are narrow, broken, over-grown, parked-on rubble strips? No problem! Just put up a sign to alert passing motorists to the hazards
