How to adequately express my rage regarding the autonomy stripped from my community? For her involvement in pushing this deal through, despite *overwhelming* opposition from her constituents, Governor Whitmer should never hold office again. I also have other thoughts on those "good union jobs".

Monday, 12/1, in Saline (Michigan Ave. & Ann Arbor St.), bring a sign, and join us to protest the rush job Saline Township data center being pushed through by DTE, OpenAI, Oracle and many disappointing Michigan elected officials. Grab dinner at Drop Top Pizza while you're here!

#bird lovers: can someone help me ID this raptor visitor to my yard? Is it a type of falcon? I only caught a few pics from this angle.

My partner calls this my “swing away Merrill” ADHD trinity. Hot cider, lions game bourbon, water.

In 2015, I was walking through the UM law quad, looked up, and saw a hawk perched on a turret. Just as I snapped the photo, it swooped down directly at me. My only regret is not having a nicer camera, but every time I see this photo in my collection, I'm grateful for the timing.

Whew. Bugonia is a ride! The three main actors disappeared into these roles.

🧵🧵 Last week I spoke with an 8 year, FT @umich.edu staff person who can't afford childcare, and already has an hour commute. Their FT colleague tried to cash out their retirement just to survive. UM is contributing to the hunger crisis, and needs to pay staff a living, thriving wage.

This was in the @annarborobserver.bsky.social Personally, I find that last sentence both ridiculous and chilling. Let @umich.edu #MichiganMedicine know your thoughts on their proposed partnership with the military. @aflcio.org @leounionumich.bsky.social @usu-umich.bsky.social

The first time I got this it resulted in a 24 hour restricted account. I look at/save IG content on my laptop because I can't fucking see small print on my phone. Then I use my phone to re-share. IG thinks I'm running a scam, when I'm actually creating my own accessibility workaround.

I will say, though, that when reliable sources like Reuters can't get their information straight, it's no wonder people are circulating misinformation. Spot the difference in these headlines from the same day?

Also, the pricing makes participation accessible. If you have the means, or if your work is reimbursing you, you can choose to pay it forward for attendees who need registration support.

Once again, please differentiate between the Uncommitted campaign, which remain solidly aligned with Dems, but worked to push Harris to change up until election day, with the Abandon Biden/Harris campaign (self-explanatory). These are 2 different groups and many uncommitted voted for Harris!

I forgot I got this for free my last NJ visit. He’s the aspiring Tax Collector, but pollinator friendly. Going in the ground, James!

Came home with a whole box full of native perennials from the @umichmbgna.bsky.social plant sale! The even goes until 4:30 and is a great way to support the gardens and trails!

My eyes and throat! If you’re attending Ypsi Pride today, you may want to wear a respirator. Air quality will be very poor through midnight.

Totally forgot I entered the axe-con conference survey drawing. This was one of the best conferences I’ve ever attended. I DO love accessibility! 💜

My little corner of NJ is my happy place. As soon as I crossed the state line, the air smelled of woods and every blooming tree. So I drove with the windows down the last hour. Stopped at dad’s grave, and caught this peaceful sunset with birds chirping.

I saw/heard my first white-crowned sparrow yesterday at our feeder. Such odd looking birds with a loud but pretty melody. Then I broke a hacksaw trying to separate some hostas. Rollercoaster of a weekend.

This is essential reading; a beautifully written memoir for our time. I’m reminded that the most powerful words aren’t found in books on political theory. The most powerful words are people’s own stories.
