for those still missing the point, you are helping major tech companies backed by the US military manufacture consent for ever present monitoring by using these arguments.
"You shouldn't assume everyone wearing smartglasses is recording you, it might be a disability aid" feels a lot like "don't judge everyone using chatgpt, some of us use it as a dyslexia aid"

The question isn't, "how do we build better, less harmful data centers?" The question is, "do we need this type of AI?" The answer is no.

Yeah. We said all of this repeatedly. That's what Uncommitted was all about. But, you should have done this to save Palestinian lives, not win an election.
"Pressed for an actual misstep, she [Harris] added not doing more to pressure Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel for how he was waging the Gaza war “as it related to innocent Palestinians.”

Harris in an interview with the New York Times concedes that the Biden admin should have done more.

CEO of Company That Made Lemonade That Kills You: I don't know Jimmy, it kills you when you drink it, so I haven't, you know, I haven't had it. Yet!

AI is intensely creepy.

How do I get a list of Michigan trade/construction unions backing Gov. Whitmer's fast track the Saline data center?

Putting on my union organizer hat. To any union construction worker on this worksite: you are complicit in the theft of natural resources & future jobs of your fellow Michiganders 🧵🧵

How to adequately express my rage regarding the autonomy stripped from my community? For her involvement in pushing this deal through, despite *overwhelming* opposition from her constituents, Governor Whitmer should never hold office again. I also have other thoughts on those "good union jobs".

"LOL you're are on social media demonizing data centers!" People, there are different types of data centers. Hyperscale AI data centers guzzle power. And while there's overlapping concerns about privacy, civil liberties & psychological harm, social media, unlike GenAI, actually serves a purpose.
AI data center vs traditional data center: What is the difference?
Traditional data centers require substantial cooling systems, while AI data centers require advanced cooling solutions, such as liquid cooling

Did we need another reason to sever ties with Amazon?
🚨SCOOP: Amazon is preparing to sever ties with USPS and expand its shipping network as a true coast-to-coast rival.

It could cost USPS more than *$6 billion* a year in lost revenue, and lead Amazon to dominate yet another facet of the economy.

USPS posted a *$9 billion* loss in 2025.

Maybe it’s not that TOO MANY students are getting emotional/psychological related accommodations when they don’t really need them, & more that record inequality, growing authoritarianism, climate catastrophe, & massive debt together are actually having a fraying impact on young people.

We need to be able to see that the line "accommodations have gone too far" is an expression of the ableist notion that disabled students do not belong in higher ed. Its fundamentally an anxiety about the fact that disabled students get an "advantage" over abled students.

I know everyone's not poor because I see mutual aid seekers struggling for food & housing & medication & I know there are a lot of more comfortable people than them, who aren't poor, ignoring them.
When yall say things like everyone is poor it makes me realize that you have not actually looked poverty in the face.

It is absolutely disingenuous for anyone to liken him/herself to people who cannot pay bills, who are unhoused, who truly have empty cupboards, who do not have warm sheets.
