👻 Halloween is when all the pumpkins come out to show their dance moves 🪩 🎃

I’ll be doing a separate post to show the staff & Mount together, this one is just to show off the Mount 🎉

The only piece that isn’t from the hawthorn is the mini staff holder which was made from an old upcycled hardwood floorboard.

🖌️I used a mixture of pigment stains, acrylic paint & inks to colour the different pieces. Then sealed the colours with a clear coat of gloss varnish & wax 🫟

✍️So back to the drawing board I went and then came back with the design you see now. It combines a few of the elements of IX, including the crystal, carved number & a holder of two carved mini staffs! 🎨

🪵 The wood I used was actually the offcuts from the staff, so no wastage of wood 😄

The staff is made from one single log of Hawthorn, which had branched giving it the perfect width for the entire staff to be carved from one piece. This Hawthorn had also blown down in the storms last year so was almost fated to be made into a staff!

Vivi was one of the most compelling characters of the story & his use of multiple mage staffs in the game made it the perfect choice.

I used the Art of Final Fantasy IX & screenshots of the game to get the design & then scaled it up into templates that I could work from.
