The only piece that isn’t from the hawthorn is the mini staff holder which was made from an old upcycled hardwood floorboard.
🖌️I used a mixture of pigment stains, acrylic paint & inks to colour the different pieces. Then sealed the colours with a clear coat of gloss varnish & wax

🥳 Finally finished the mount for Vivi’s Staff!
This was originally just going to be Vivi’s hat with the holder being two prongs where his eyes would be, but the hat turned out really nice and I didn’t want to cover it up when the staff was hung up.🫣

The staff is made from one single log of Hawthorn, which had branched giving it the perfect width for the entire staff to be carved from one piece. This Hawthorn had also blown down in the storms last year so was almost fated to be made into a staff!
