Hello? Is this thing on? What about this button?
Power died here last night around 10pm. I went to bed with an ETA of 1am. While I was sleeping, that changed to 4pm, then at 2pm it changed again to 8pm. Finally got power back around 7:45pm. My aquarium did not enjoy almost 24hrs with no power :(

Five hours of water bomber refilling today. I have sore feet.

Why can I see you getting interested in stamp collecting this season?

10:30pm last night - 21C. 12:30am - 28C. Never a good sign. Hit 40.4C. Hopefully cooler for the rest of the week.

First water bombing refilling of the season. The original fire I was called out for was done and dusted, but a second one sparked up in the afternoon. Not a nice one either. Still going now and probably into tomorrow morning too.

Why is mixed peel so hard to buy?

Custom mini orb should not be so hard to buy.

I had a toilet frog. I haven't had a toilet frog in years!

Right, next time it rains, I find out if I have fixed my weather station. What fun.

Not one, but two power glitches last night. Fuses? Remember them? We had 39 spares. We needed 47. That was a big oops. We'll still be replacing them on Monday.

I hate when you can suddenly smell smoke and don't know where its coming from.

Follow up to previous post - Don't be anywhere near them or they'll run you over.

The kids down the road have one of these. www.littleriders.com.au/assets/full/...
A kid size drive-able electric car. Except the manual steering is broken, so one sits on the drivers side working the pedals and the other sits on the passenger side with the remote. What could go wrong?

One of the groups at work made a policy change and killed all the phones. There is a work around, but they said they were going to push out a fix and it hasn't appeared yet. Plus I've killed my phone by playing with it. Oh joy.

Lets post this to the right place... I do like how the airport comes with instructions on how to make a paper plane in case you need one.

Endless empty corridors

So many check-in desks. Just need one of them to open.

Today I discovered that the river is deeper than my waders are long. On a related discovery, water is wet, cold and surprisingly refreshing when that close to selected parts of your anatomy. And this is why I don't take my phone or wallet with me.

This sign is very practical and true. Now sure how you'll be able to see it, but that was a bridge which no longer exists

Got to do my "5% other duties as required" today. Stood on a ladder and beat a roller door with a sledgehammer and crowbar. Fixed it though.

Wildflower season!

Magical debugging commands found... problem finally isolated... things jangled in the general direction and the final solution? Turn it off and on again. The joys of memory leaks

... Finally found out what is causing it. The high voltage distribution power lines over the road. They did work on them earlier in the year, not sure if its the new insulators, the switch gear or some fuse covers that are open. Might be there for a while.

I have been hearing a whistling howling in the house for a while which I chalked up to my roof dramas. Usually only at night, in wet weather when the wind is from a certain direction. Been out and poked things, but tracking it down has been a pain. (cont...)

I found some pictures of my former office while I was still there and what it looked like after I left. I don't know how the folks there didn't go insane. It was white, not even beige.
