A connector, shaped like DB-25 (male, PCB-mounted), except it has only 9 pins: 5 normal ones in the regular two-row pattern you'd expect, and 4 much larger coaxial ones - 1 on the left and 3 on the right.

why do they no longer make mice with extra buttons on the sides of the main buttons, like Logitech G300S had :(
A photo of a Logitech G300S computer mouse. It's a wired, optical mouse. In the middle between the main buttons it has a scroll wheel, and behind it stick out two small rectangular buttons labelled G8 and G9. More importantly, parallel to the scroll wheel, at the outer edge of each main button stick out two thin extra buttons. They're slanted inwards. The ones on the left are labelled G4 and G5. The right ones are G6 and G7.

A photo in a magazine: An analog voltmeter with an quarter-circle PCB stuffed in the place where you'd expect to see the dial. The PCB has a row of small green elements along its outer curved edge, "ANALOG TO DIGITAL CONVERTER" written on the silkscreen, and a 2x17 goldpin connector. Below it is another PCB with an LPT port, a bunch of ICs in DIP cases, and another 2x17 goldpin connector with a ribbon cable attached to it. Half of the ribbon cable is folded somewhat under that PCB, but a bit to the side, with the connector on the other end sticking out, not connected to anything.
