Well-said. I said "wants to" as a shorthand for "evidence points toward this being their overall intention." I thought that would be understood, but apparently not by everyone.

But can you stay? Staying in a country generally requires a visa and to get a visa, you need a passport. I also didn't say we are trapped, I said that is what the administration wants.
