Know Your Rights: Temp Workers Edition
📌 Temporary workers have the right to:
✅ Be free from discrimination — from both the employment agency and the host employer.
✅ Receive the same safety training as permanent employees doing similar work.
✅ Be paid at least the minimum wage — no exceptions.

On September 3, 1991, a fire broke out at the Imperial Food Products chicken processing plant in Hamlet, North Carolina. The blaze was caused by a leaking hydraulic line that sprayed flammable fluid near a fryer, igniting a fast-moving fire.

Today marks Women’s Equality Day, highlighting the progress made + the work still needed for gender equality in the workplace. The numbers are stark: women earn approximately 80 cents for every dollar earned by men.

By working together, we can build a more inclusive and equitable workplace for all.

You have the right to a safe and healthy workplace!

Your employer is required to provide a work environment free from recognized hazards that could cause death or serious harm. This includes proper training, safety equipment, and protocols for emergencies.
