50 years ago, surviving cancer was a rarity. Federally funded research changed that for millions of Americans. But progress is now at risk. Unstable funding threatens to halt future breakthroughs #SaveResearchStopCancer #ASCOAdvocacy

This needs to be amplified. The unfortunate increase in cancers in young individuals, especially for colorectal cancer, has created a public narrative that cancer rates are increasing

It’s a travesty, but how do we respond? Is this a scenario where we argue there’s an individual need for each of these cancers or can we speak with one voice that cancer research is critical? In my view there’s a “divide & conquer” approach here.
#kidneycancer #LungCancer #pancreaticcancer & #Glioblastoma = all defunded within CDMRP this year by Pete Hegseth, Sen. McConnell & Rep. Calvert. Cancer is supposed to be nonpartisan. 591,000+ Americans are expected to be diagnosed w/ 1 of these this year. What will we tell them? #oncsky #medsky

Katie provides the moral imperative far more eloquently than I can. For those who require an economic argument, the US research enterprise is the most robust in the world creating $100B in wealth. It is one of our most successful exports.
has crushed me in a way I can not describe.

If you have ever celebrated me and my fight against the odds, I need you to also support science in this moment.

This isn't about politics, it crosses party lines.

With this logic pts who are heavy smokers should be labeled as “group 1 lung cancer” because of their high risk for clinically significant lung cancer.
Another argument against removing “cancer” label for Pattern 3 easily prostate cancer refuted by replacing “pattern 3” with “benign”: men with pattern 3 / biopsy and PSA > 20 are at increased risk of mortality therefore call pattern 3 / benign “cancer” euoncology.europeanurology.com/article/S258...
