With the upcoming increase in frequency (not holding my breath) the train will be a "just show up" thing - it would be good for it to offer more connection to places other than downtown Toronto. Hopefully also faster with electrification (see above on breath).

From unionville GO to Kennedy GO is 21 min, and from scarborough GO to Whitby GO is 37 minutes according to the schedules. Add in 3 min for the extra distance and 10 for a transfer for 71 min total, similar to the 75 and 93 by bus shown.

Definitely can for Danforth/main but I'm already on the GO so it's more effort and waiting around. A direct transfer to Lakeshore East at one or both reduces friction and improves the network. When I want to go to Whitby it's all the way to union right now or ttc in between GO stations.

I would take the stouffville line regularly from Markham to Danforth or Scarborough both to visit friends and local businesses, it's a shame it's not an option now and no plans to make things better.

I just don't get why the default - unfortunately often boosted by the media is to assume things can't be done and we should accept the status quo. I suppose thats why Toronto is in it's housing crisis, transit crisis, congestion crisis . . . a lot of people saying "no" and not a lot of solutions.

Platform screen doors on the subway? Too Expensive. Faster streetcars? We need to follow historic approaches. Congestion pricing? I don't want to pay! Slab apartment buildings? Shadows!

All while the fundamental quality of life and functioning of the city deteriorates.
