Two 1-gallon ziplock bags of modern cables (usb and lightning) at the ready and one medium Rubbermaid bin tucked under the stairs filled with all kinds of old serial, parallel, monitor, power and scsi cables along with miscellaneous one-offs I don't know what they connect to.
