a lot of the decisions that game made would’ve been a lot less egregious when you realize it was probably pitched thinking it would come out way sooner as a stopgap between botw & the next 3d zelda but the combo of game dev being fucked, the pandemic and ultra hand complicating things pushed it back

forced them into doing so and having hyrule be 99% identical isn’t gonna work if you do the usual jump in time however many ages back/forth

ofc i don’t actually know how much staff has been consistently working on the newer REs from 7 onwards but like, i doubt it’s zero

pine for from back in the day were (fundamentally) last minute inclusions that were built around a game that was pretty much already done back when it was still arcade exclusive

I’m kinda mixed on this cus i liked it when fighting games used to regularly have more singleplayer content outside of arcade mode but at the same time, like, i understand (and don’t think a lot of ppl realize this) that’s from a time the genre wasn’t GAAS and instead the SP experience ppl (cont.)

outta everything i kinda wanna say dream drop distance feels like it probably shouldn’t have happened cus its main plot beats are like clearly just shit that feels like it was conceptualized or otherwise woulda been better off as the first half of KH3 stretched out into an entire game
