I directed some commercials in Kiev about 8 years ago and this was a gift from the local production company Workshop I was working with. As true then as it is now. Fuck Putin, film and support Ukraine. 🇺🇦

I’m miles away in mid-city and can see the flames from my house. The wind is howling and it’s not letting up. My heart goes out to everyone being affected tonight by the fires.

Thanks to the Philosophical Research Society and Film Forum LA for hosting a centennial celebration of Taylor Mead tonight. I had the privilege of getting to share a few stories and read some of Taylor’s poems. As Taylor would always say, “Please no paparazzi!” 📸

I really enjoyed A Complete Unknown way more than I was expecting to. There’s nearly 30 Dylan songs performed and Mangold never loses narrative momentum. Chalamet put in the work and makes the movie. Ed Norton as Pete Seeger feels so honest. But Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez - wow!!!

A whole other lifetime ago I remember talking to Jaleel about what they were gonna name the band. TV On The Radio were so different than anything else happening. So passionate, poetic and punk. Over the years they’ve grown to become one of my all time favorites. Grateful for their friendship & music

How long will aged Eggnogg last? My wife Emmy and I made this boozy Eggnog in October 2022 (!) following the Rockefeller University recipe. Next week we’re going to give it a try. If we get enough interest on this post I’ll share the results with a video.
