A few days ago, I read the first collected volume of Something Is Killing the Children (so I've only read issues 1-5 so far) and really dug it. Dark fantasy/horror.

Earlier this year, I read the first three volumes of Blacksad and adored them. Noirish mystery/crime with anthropomorphized animals.

I didn't find out about that until years later, but it soured my opinion for sure when I did.

I enjoy Tarantino's movies well enough, but my impression of him as a person will, fairly or not, be forever influenced by the fact that the first time I ever saw him was when he was promoting Kill Bill on The Tonight Show while absolutely shit-faced.

Dracula: Prince of Darkness was the first horror movie I ever saw. I was a kid, it was on AMC's MonsterFest one Halloween season, and I decided to be brave and watch it.

I've had a soft spot for it ever since.
