I have since found out that Godot's docs themselves say that physics don't apply properly if a scale is applied. Personally, I consider that surprising

Set the initial velocity in code of a rigidbody3d. You also get the same effect if you apply an impulse instead

Realized the issue while doing trajectory calcs and wondering why a shot that should never be able to make it past 1000 units was sailing far, far beyond that.

That's pretty speedy! What made the sequel so much faster? Reusing what you built or was it the knowledge you'd gained?
