For those of you who say that they are now making food political. Throughout history, food has always been political.
Look at France due to bread shortages under Louis XVI France was also practically broke (hmm trillions in debt the US is)
Because I felt feisty I told the pups that I won’t be able to hang with them tomorrow cause my spouse is taking me away to work tomorrow. (We carpool together when we work the same days). The dogs are attached to me and they get sad when I’m gone all day.

Well efficiency won out and did the dishes tonight cause I really didn’t want to wake up to a pile of dishes to clean 😅

Debating on whether it’s worth leaving the dishes for the morning or just getting them done now.

Irish Stew, apple pecan salad and biscuits for dinner. Now I have sweet potato dog treats dehydrating for pups that should be ready in the morning. Been a busy weekend and I still have a load of dishes to do 😭. I hate adulting.

Made a copycat McRib recipe for dinner. (I don’t like them but the spouse and kids do. And since we are boycotting McDonalds).

It was a success and apparently more filling than the ones at McDonald’s.

Made the BBQ sauce and the patties.

Tomorrow im gonna just make a hearty “Irish” stew.

Denmark has reclassified the US as a dangerous security threat. Let that sink in.

I made a “modified” acorn squash and “stuffing” recipe for dinner. My spouse and one of my kids won’t eat unless there is some kind of meat so enter spicy turkey sausage. Probably one of my favourite meals right now.
Time for dishes and cleanup before the work week begins. 🫠

Taking his talking points from the man himself. “This is the greatest……ever. No one has done …..:better than me”. They need a new mantra. Oh wait that would mean they could rub two brain cells together and form independent thought.
Mike Johnson: "we've had one of the most productive Congresses in the history of the institution."

(House GOP recently caused the longest government shutdown in US history and took a paid vacation for 54 days on your dime)

Good ol’ Nebraska putting ppl 🥇. NE, the good life, no that’s not it. NE Nice, damn that’s not it either. NE it’s not for everyone. That’s for damn sure.
Ricketts & Pillen want businesses to come here & yet. yes this was Tysons call but where were our leaders trying to keep the business here?
What happened the week Tyson announced it was laying off 3,200 workers from its plant in Lexington, NE?

The profits from the Big 4 Meatpackers hit their HIGHEST level since 2022.

This is what a cartel looks like.

So the sourdough experiment was a bit interesting the one cooked in a loaf pan was from a co worker whose starter is 100+ yrs old. The other I purchased which is “allegedly” from ancient Egypt. I have no proof other than how they sold it. So anyway, definitely flavour differences between the two. 😋

First attempt at sourdough loaves. The one on the top I did the two pan method (got a little too much flour in the form pan last night it was late). The one on the bottom got a little toasty in the cast iron. Looked up some “hacks” to save the bottom next time so up from here I hope.

I was just reminded that a lot of men in kilts will be in the states next year……. As much as I would love to hear the brogue and see the kilts I think it would be significantly safer for all if they moved the World Cup out of all US cities.

My BIL moved to Germany earlier this year. I have another BIL who lives in China and has for over a decade. So no I don’t have blinders on when it comes to the propaganda machine here when they tell us other countries are “bad”.

He’s always been busy sucking on Trumps lollipop he was a 💩 governor and he’s been an absolute 💩 senator.
Two months ago, Pete Ricketts voted AGAINST releasing the Epstein files.

When a Nebraska news station asked Ricketts about the Epstein situation, he said it was a low priority. 👇

Karma isn’t working fast enough for this administration but I know she gets hers in the end. I’m just tired of being patient for her to take the wheel.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."
