Trump is the only survivor of a supposed gun shooting to have absolutely zero emotion over gun shootings.

Except for Charlie Kirk.

It would be nice if the media would point that out.

Brown shooting.
According to the Gun Violence Archive, the Brown University shooting brings the number of mass shootings to 389 in the US for this year.

Land of the free, right, where you're no more than 2 minutes from a shooting.

"No way to prevent this," says the only nation where this regularly happens.

Press conference beginning now. 12 deaths plus one of the shooters. "This attack was designed to target Sydney's Jewish community on the first night of Hanukkah... this attack is being designated as a terrorism event."

there you have it.
I believe the news here are waiting for the NSW Premier's press conference to confirm what we all already have a sickening knowledge of.

Chavarria, a U.S. citizen, was held at the airport "for more than four hours and released only after he finally agreed to let the agents search his smartphone, tablet, and laptop computer. The agents...informed him that he had no Fourth Amendment right to resist." @pacificlegal.bsky.social is suing.

A federal lawsuit argues that perusing travelers' personal data without a warrant or probable cause violates the Fourth Amendment.

Trump regime wants to force ALL visitors to the U.S. to install government-controlled spyware on their phones, and submit detailed personal data -- even DNA, apparently -- to the authorities.

(If they're trying to wreck tourism, including the World Cup, this is the way.) […]

A separate review of health studies found a lack of research on the effect of air pollution breathed in by more than 2 million civilians and military personnel who work at airports worldwide.
A study has revealed the concentrations of ultrafine particles breathed in by airline passengers.

Ultrafine particles are impossible to see and are often missed by conventional monitoring techniques, and therefore they are not covered by air pollution laws.
Air passengers exposed to extremely high levels of ultrafine particle pollution, study finds
Levels during boarding and taxiing were far above those defined as high by the World Health Organization

Sean Hecker, Kilmar's attorney, once hailed how much courage it took Kilmar to challenge what DOJ/DHS is doing to him. That stuck with me. Kilmar Abrego is just some guy, vulnerable in a way most of us are not.

But he has taken on Trump and ... thus far at least, prevailed.
"Today’s ruling is a powerful affirmation that the rule of law still matters," Sandoval-Moshenberg said. "The Court made … clear that the govt cannot detain a person indefinitely without legal authority, and that every agency involved must now comply fully and promptly with the Court’s directives."
Kilmar Abrego Garcia is released from ICE custody following judge's order
Judge Paula Xinis of the U.S. District Court in Maryland ruled that the Trump administration lacked the legal authority to continue holding Abrego.

This was an unexpected surprise. I wrote a thread about what was happening with redistricting in Indiana. It’s been a wild ride.

The state senate was under immense pressure from Trump to vote for a new map that would make Indiana 9-0 Republican districts.

They voted against it.
Live updates: Indiana Senate votes down redistricting bill, breaking with Trump
The vote may come down to the wire as on-the-fence lawmakers hear final arguments.

Cosmopolitan, egalitarian values are better than authoritarian values and it would be cool if one of our two political parties argued as much instead of spending decades trying to avoid cultural arguments by clinging to "it's the economy stupid" or "kitchen table issues" or "affordability."
