On vacation a few years ago I was stopped outside an apartment I rented in Paris by two women who asked where I was from. Obviously not chic enough to be Parisian, I replied Seattle. So were they and one of the women was convinced she knew me, but we couldn't pin down exactly how. So crazy.

Would you think you were crazy if you were explaining a human's equivalent trauma? No you wouldn't. No one who loves dogs enough to watch them when you're away would think any of this was unusual. The things I could tell you about what some of my foster dogs have gone through would make you weep.

No, I was a paralegal and “went native” moving to a product group doing Bus Dev before moving to writing. Been a tech writer for decades now. Getting ready to retire at the end of the year. Have worked in tech since 1994.

She was also the PM for Microsoft Bob, at the time I worked in legal and supported her group. Getting email from her was, shall we say, energizing. She was very nice BTW.

You might look at gardeners.com. They have barrel types, but also some more attractive options. I order a lot of tools and things from them and have been pretty happy with the quality.

As a knitter I so relate. People always want to buy handknit socks from me. When I ask how much they'd pay the typical answer is $25. The yarn is usually $30 and we won't discuss how long it takes to make all those tiny stitches and I'm a fast knitter.

There were shawls that just needed the bind off to be finished and then blocked. Multiple projects cast on, a few inches knit, but no clue about the pattern or intention. I have stash, but not like that. I always have a pair of socks on the needles, and then something else, sweater, lace shawl...

I love this. When my sister passed away unexpectedly my nephews (and I) were overwhelmed by her huge stash. I brought it all home and my knitting group helped me decide what to finish, what to donate, and what to throw away. I don't know what I would have done without their help.

Love it, sampler knitting is so rewarding. This is one of my current projects. Eventually the ends will be grafted for an infinity scarf. Ignore the terrible pics, it’s gray and rainy here. #showmeyourknits

I bet there are way more than that. I’ve knitted at least 6 myself and I never bothered to post them on Rav.
