That’s why I’m moving only at 33…I think that’s when I would prefer spending a year in a place just by myself hahahahaha

Probs. China’s history curriculum is written in a very Marxist way - you have to learn the causes and outcomes, contributing factors etc. And that idea of individuals only playing small parts in the development of history. So you’d end up learning both when it comes to Ancient Rome

And good to see SBS Mandarin and Cantonese have picked up this story in their morning news bulletins:

SBS九點半新聞(2025年10月9日)
2025年10月9日SBS廣東話節目九點半新聞報道。

Like that feeling of consuming and digesting amazing reports, then rewriting them for podcast scripts, wow, that feels so good. And then you look at Australia’s China coverage, wow they are still reporting on what you’ve pitched five years ago

I think it’s also because I just have so many chances to see the world this year, to work with different teams and people, and then find out there are more options and ways of being a journalist. Which is something I wouldn’t dare to think b4 resolving my visa.

…but instead I will tell myself that it’s not my problem, I’m good enough, but I probs just need to be more solution-focused mind and think about how to maximise my strength. It’s just one year but I’ve changed so much in terms of my mental health and confidence. /2
