Final class done! What used to be a desperate visa solution turned out to be my safe haven in the past two years, as I could hide myself in the magic of languages, words and meanings, staying away from drama. Can’t wait to become a court interpreter soon!!!

It’s so triggering to read this social post on RedNote/Xiaohongshu - there were already 678k active Australian users on the app last year, way before this refugee trend. It’s almost twice than SMH’s daily readership for their print version at the same time.

Thinking of all my ex-colleagues who have been told their contracts not renewed as a result of this Facebook and Google deal. Thinking of those who left the company because their positions were funded by Meta and Google, and hence considered as the exemption of the new Fair Work Provisions.

I highly recommend this book - while it focuses more on healing of severe abuses, it answers lots of questions that HRs and managers have wondered, such as “why no one dare to raise a complaint but keeps telling others that they are bullied”, or “why this person can’t move on from that bullying”.

Very last-minute self promotion, but I’m doing a skill share with Podcast Workers Australia tomorrow on making your podcast bilingual and more interesting, by getting an interpreter involved.
