I didn't see your previous conversation indicating exclusively the noun and frankly I don't see the sense in emphasizing spelling
of course the fairy sense is from Old (Middle?) French, not Old English, which is usually spelled "fey" now and tbh I think using that for fairy constitutes a malaprop
