Linus has a special relationship with Coil’s “Moon’s Milk” era. Here, he vibes with the Autumn Equinox EP, while root vegetables are chopped in the background. Fall is in full force! 🍁🍁🍂🥔🫜🍠

Incidentally, lichens (as well as the “squat black monster”) feature on this shelf-talker I drew for a Robert Aickman display that I put up last week at Powell’s books. I dare say he’s gained a few new readers in the ensuing weeks!

In honor of my cat Hans, who passed away 9/5, I present some of my favorite pictures of him taken over the years.

Here he is with his brother Dieter (they both passed from complications due to diabetes)

In an effort to generally bring the temperature down (figuratively if not literally) I present another video of my cat listening to Ethel Cain.

I know you mean well, but Hayden Anhedonia is her name, not her deadname. Ethel Cain is stage name/character. Here’s a screen cap of the credits from her new album, and you’ll find further proof on her wiki.

I put on the new Ethel Cain album this morning for my morning run and almost had to lay down in the middle of it. Just gorgeous stuff. She creates a whole world with her music.

Found a copy of the new book by @scottryanfmp.bsky.social while shelving at Powell’s Books! It’s about the sounds and music of #TwinPeaks which has always been one of my favorite aspects of the show, so I had to nab it! Congrats, Scott!

I’ve been playing so much Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 that it feels like my biorhythm has switched to 3/4 waltz time. What a gorgeous game!

I’m a huge fan of The Last of Us games, as well as the series, so I waded into YouTube over the last couple days to watch over a dozen reactions to Sunday’s episode, and my conclusion is…the average television audience is a great deal more emotionally mature than gamers. Perhaps no surprise there.

Was happy to see that Ethel Cain is the first out trans person to hit the Billboard top 10, and it was solely with the recent, much-anticipated vinyl release of her album Preacher’s Daughter. I feel this is the best album about a downward spiral since The Downward Spiral. Picked up my copy today!

Love that movie! And it has one of Crispin Glover’s all-time great line readings: “What, do you think this car runs on God’s own methane?”
