This is the world we should strive for: humans taking care of animals and stewarding nature and living in harmony with them. This should be the basis of our entire ethos. Anything else is ignorance and moral sickness based on greed and delusion.

This is so amazing. An American Kestrel (Sparrowhawk) feeding her chicks is something almost no one on earth had been able to witness until the advent of bird cams. Just wonderful.

Northern sunrise. So glad that some people have the gumption to get up early and drive places to catch this fleeting beauty. I'm typically otherwise occupied by dreams of being lost in airports or I'd do it.

We had our first snow last week on November 9 here in northern Michigan at the 45th parallel. About 13 cm fell. That's quite early for us and quite a lot of snow. It definitely feels like a portent of winter weather to come.
