I think folks working on this are putting a lot more energy into the 2026 budget cycle for this so just gotta keep pushing. It’s so weird to me that people who usually complain about taxpayer $$ being spent poorly WANT it to be spent on non-solutions

Absolutely yeah I’m still very new to having a city council (former rural kid lol) so I’m still learning to navigate this and figured other people might be too

The opposition is turning out big. They know how to blow up these forms. We have to push back and support the councilors who are trying to do good here.

Like I have contemplated running for office long enough to know what type of office I’d want to hold based on what I want to accomplish and I think way too many people don’t know what they’re trying to do at all

Oh to be clear same that’s the only reason I’m not doing it but I think it’s also important for candidates to know what they actually want to do because like a legislator and a city councilor are pretty different jobs despite their overlap

I never even thought about the irony of all of them being like “No Kings!!” while thinking incumbents should be left alone 😂

That’s one of the things that makes me so mad is when people have SO many levels of government and pick the wrong race, especially as someone who grew up with very little government (unincorporated, outside of metro, etc)
