$8 billion in education cuts proposed while charter schools get a $60M boost. Public schools are worth fighting for! Join "Fight For Schools!" rallies on May 17th in LA (I'll be rallying with my siblings at SpaceX), Sacramento, SF, Hanford, or SD. Our kids deserve better. #FightForSchools

Over 90% of CA kids attend public schools that provide stability & opportunity. Recent DOE cuts threaten progress while those making decisions have never experienced public education. I ♥️ Public Schools and will fight to protect them.

This really matters...
95% of students with disabilities learn in public schools, and the Department of Education ensures they get the support they need and deserve.

Wish I was there; my flight was delayed out of LAX. Proud of my #WeAreCTA siblings getting out there in the cold rain to protest a terrible choice for Secretary of Education.
With Linda McMahon’s confirmation hearing tomorrow and billionaires taking aim at the Department of Education, educators from across the nation rallied at the Capitol today to protect students and public education. You can take action texting the word ACTION to 48744! #WeAreCTA

Thankful that this has begun; the damage is so widespread & this is just the start of a long recovery. So much is going on in the US & world but I hope people don't forget the tragedy that still is a result of #LAfires.

#EatonFire has forever altered my beautiful & diverse community.

Today, FEMA and the US Army Corps of Engineers are starting to clear wildfire debris on private properties in Altadena & the Pacific Palisades in record time.

By eliminating red tape and bureaucratic barriers, California is helping to expedite the recovery and rebuilding process at a record pace.

This is the first thing I am doing after I land in DC on Wednesday! Looking forward to seeing all my union siblings out on the streets of DC to protest the draconian efforts of Muskrat and his minion, 47.

Linda McMahon's confirmation hearings start Thursday, and we know what's coming—slashes to funding for smaller class sizes, support, and free meals for hungry students—all to fund another handout for billionaires.

Wonderful moment today: I met w/ my school's leadership students & explained to that featuring entertainment/sports figures for #BlackHistoryMonth this week was perpetuating a stereotype that Black success comes only if you are a rapper or baller.

See the list I gave the below. Who would you add?

I'm so thankful that @chu.house.gov is my US Representative! She has always been a true advocate for justice and always wonderful to meet with. Thanks to Representative Chu and @repgwenmoore.bsky.social for pushing Mike Johnson for answers on this critical issue!
Yesterday, @repgwenmoore.bsky.social and I sought answers from U.S. Department of the Treasury Secretary Bessent about why Americans' private information and tax dollars are being stolen by the richest man in the world and his unvetted lackeys. youtu.be/VglsfqQp8l8?...

In reality, educators create safe, inclusive learning environments where ALL students may thrive. Teaching, respect & critical thinking isn't indoctrination- it's preparation for a diverse world. Schools should remain safe. spaces free from hate and discrimination.
