Ukrainian forces retake Novoekonomichne and advance on the Dobropillia axis
Ukrainian troops are pressing counteroffensive operations on the Dobropillya axis, with a Ukrainian tank firing on Russian positions in the area. According to military-focused Telegram channels , Ukrainian forces have fully expelled Russian troops from the settlement of Novoekonomichne. The advance is ongoing: Ukrainian units are now fighting in the village of Razino and have pushed into Novotoretske, expanding the “gray zone.” The maneuver aims to slice into the Russian flank near Pokrovsk. Even pro-Russian military bloggers acknowledge changes on the front, noting a “correction on the sector in favor of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.” According to Ukraine’s General Staff , on the Dobropillya axis - where Russia concentrated an assault grouping - Russian forces have captured only 13.5 square kilometers, while Ukrainian troops regained 25.5 square kilometers. On the Pokrovsk axis, the picture is similar: Russian forces took 5 square kilometers, while Ukraine liberated 26 square kilometers. Over the past day, Russian forces lost 910 personnel, Ukraine’s military said . Ukrainian forces also destroyed five tanks, four armored fighting vehicles, and 29 artillery systems.

For many in developing nations, Russia offers a chance to earn blood money they might never otherwise see. Many Cubans have taken that path, and our team Frontelligence Insight used them as a case study to find out how many foreigners are fighting for Russia.🧵Thread

7/ Under standard contracts, Cubans were promised a 195,000‑ruble signing bonus, monthly pay of 204,000 rubles in the active combat zone, injury compensation up to 1,000,000 rubles, and 2,000,000 rubles for death benefits. Contracts explicitly mention "special military operation"

10/ A second reference comes from internal personnel documents from several Russian brigades and regiments. Although these records give only a partial view, given the unknown distribution of mercenaries across units, they still help approximate the overall scale

2/ In 2023, a major data leak exposed records of hundreds of Cuban mercenaries, later investigated by
@informnapalm.bsky.social. We analyzed 176 personal files and found that most recruits were between 30 and 39 years old, followed by those aged 40 to 49 - with a few even over 60.

8/ While our team cautiously estimates that just over 500 Cubans and a similar number of Serbs have attempted to enlist in 2023 and 2024, pinpointing exact figures for each nationality is difficult. That said, drawing on two key data points, we can offer a range

11/ Documents showed only a small number of foreign fighters, often less than a platoon. This suggests the overall count is far lower than some media claims. If there were truly 5,000 Cubans or 15,000 Nepalese, as CNN reported, their presence would be far more visible

12/ After approximating the total number of brigades and regiments, estimating the average number of foreign fighters per unit, accounting for higher concentrations in airborne divisions, and subtracting losses since 2023, we arrived at a range of 4660 - 8000 foreign mercenaries

In 2024, Frontelligence Insight, after long debates, talks with other analysts, and a detailed review of Russian documents, economic data, production, and payments, concluded that Russia will likely pursue a ceasefire by late 2025 or early 2026. Yet Trump’s policies have encouraged Putin to continue

I have counted 34,943 Russian combatant deaths over the past 289 days since I began tracking. This number will increase, as I have not finished error-checking, and we typically undercount during the first pass through the data.

On June 25, a video emerged showing a Ukrainian airstrike on an abandoned school in Kamianske, Zaporizhzhia. The strike caused severe structural damage.

Kamianske has been on the front line since 2022. The drained Yanchekrak reservoir acts as a natural boundary between Russian and Ukrainian forces.
