It annoys me just as much. It's absurd! Nobody would say 'we're playing two games a week' during parts of the season in which they're playing only Saturdays. It would be self-evidently ridiculous. Yet 'three games' is apparently fine.

I enjoyed being so completely confident we'd beat mid- to lower-ranked teams at home. Just felt certain on the way to the game. I've never had that feeling before.

I'd heard of it, but never heard it. It's something incredible isn't it? I have no idea how much I like it, but I'm glad it exists.

I don't really see that we changed our plan over the course of the season, we just executed it better. I thought it was our consistency in almost always winning the games we ought to win - something not normally synonymous with Bristol City - that took us to 6th. But anyway. Yesterday's news!

I hope we do better again this season. But we're one game in and I'm not entirely comfortable with condemning the actions of the ancien regime just yet.

The bloke who messaged Football Weekly did it (and was given an apt dismissal by @alimaxwell.bsky.social). I saw a lengthy match report on Otib doing the same thing. The guy was really successful! Getting to the playoffs on our budget was a real achievement.

Oh yeah. We all know that City are past masters at losing the game you expect to win after winning the game you expect to lose. But I'm still going to enjoy the next 72 hours.

God. Wasn't it. It's very easy to assume it's a false dawn or a day 1 fluke. But nice to allow ourselves just a week of thinking it might not be.
