she/her. slowly figuring things out. scifi and fantasy trash. I pretend I know things about dogs and writing. Absolutely no genAI.

Not exactly the same vein, but Meliahwyl has 100% infiltrated places while in wild shape and pretended to be a clueless dog or cat while being told to get lost, hang around, etc.

Meliahwyl's ability to participate in the politics of whereever she was living was often in part dictated by either the time she spent or the deeds she completed there. In peaceful places, she would take a respectful backseat. In crueler places, she would do what she could, when she could.

A decade after the events of the story, Meliahwyl and Wyll return to Baldur's Gate. Wyll (likely) inherits the Dukedom from Ulder, and they "settle" down to raise Aurora, their newly-adopted tiefling daughter. Before Wyll, Meliahwyl never intended to live in Baldur's Gate full-time again.

🌿 132 at the start of BG3
🌿 Has a human paternal grandfather
🌿 Is silly when wild shaped
🌿 Loves puns. Loves dropping bad puns even more
🌿 Has a magic wooden flute that can take on the shape of a few different flute types

"We will all return to the earth some day."

Meliahwyl needs to be in control of her environment. Strange for someone who travels to unknown places, right? But what constitutes "control" is nuanced and dependant on context.

The more control over her social environment she has, the more comfortable she is. Her fussing over (con't)

Meliahwyl takes hygiene very seriously, but, for her, "seriously" is context-dependent. Getting dirty is a regular part of travel and doesn't squick her out, but getting and staying clean as soon as one can is an important part of staying healthy. She doesn't really fiddle with cosmetics.

As for those who are alive, Wyll is the only humanoid allowed to see Meliahwyl fully break down. Karlach and Amarie are close behind, followed by Shadowheart and Jaheira. Meliahwyl would be embarrassed to have Jaheira see her fall apart, but she would be comfortable enough nonetheless.

Meliahwyl may be better described as "diplomatic" or "friendly" than sociable; she isn't chatty. Although she's an introvert, she has no problem conversing with people either for information or if the social situation calls for it. She's happy to consider anyone kind she's met a friend.

Meliahwyl's favorite location in Baldur's Gate would be, unsurprisingly, Bloomridge Park. It's the closest place in the city to nature, even if it's manicured. Those visiting it are generally in good spirits; for Meliahwyl, it's a quieter, more calm place than the rest of the city.

Meliahwyl (generally) starts by keeping her distance to survey the enemy and utilizes her land and AOE magic to get control over the field. From there, she can use more targeted spells or let loose her arrows.
In melee, she relies on Wild Shape for as long as is possible or appropriate.

Happy Birthday, Elegys!
Meliahwyl is happy to come. She'll eat most dishes, but is excited to indulge in something hearty with lots of root vegetables.
She brings a handmade charm made from overlapping threads, twine, and polished wood. It smells a bit like...licorice?

Oh, everyone was WELL aware of the mounting romantic tension between Wyll and Meliahwyl. In fact, they were "sick of their shit", so to speak. There was little surprise - perhaps even relief - when the two finally kissed during Act 2. There was more than a little gossip the next day.

*laughs in neurodivergent, asexual caretaker*

If you haven't yet watched Farscape, I recommend doing so. This is Pilot, the universe's best boy. I'll save the gushing for another day. Just be warned that Farscape is a wild ride, and almost all of the other characters are REAL horny.

I could spent forever thinking about this, but I think Meliahwyl would probably be a Jasmine green tea (just green tea scented w/ jasmine flowers). Light, smooth and soothing, slightly floral, but bitter if abused with too high a temp or oversteeped.

Immediately post-game, Meliahwyl struggles a lot in Avernus. It's an extremely difficult environment for her and she has to rely on other skills until she learns to work her magic there.

Ten years later, her struggle is adapting to living in the city again once she and Wyll "settle" down.

Over the course of their adventure, Meliahwyl opens up and learns to gossip with Shadowheart and Karlach!
Post-game, though, I think Amarie and Meliahwyl are comfortable enough to get a little unhinged with their conversations... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

At the start of BG3, Meliahwyl is 132 years old. Psychologically, she is a bit of an old soul - but this comes from being a caretaker and a wanderer.

Her age contrasts with Wyll's, but Halsin reminds them that, as a human and 3/4 elf, they're closer in relative age than they think.

Happy Birthday, Mal! Meliahwyl will happily attend. She brings a bottle of wine that Wyll picked out and suggested would be a nice gift.
I'm actually having trouble thinking of birthday activities, so, if someone asks, she'll play her flute so people can dance!

Before officially becoming a couple, Meliahwyl exclusively called Wyll by his name. As they grow deeper into their relationship, her nicknames for him expand from "my love" ito include "Dear", "My beloved", "Melmë" or "Melethron"*, and, still, simply, "Wyll".
November 7, 2025 at 4:59 AM
Wyll's first impression of Meliahwyl was likely much less guarded. Her values were made very clear, as the issues with the Emerald Grove offended her personally. And, of the party so far, she was likely the most dead-set on setting things right in the area. That conviction to do good touched him.

This one is loaded. Meliahwyl's first impression of Wyll was that he was an arrogant silver-tongue. That faded REAL fast when she saw him with the tiefling children. But was he still a silver-tongue?
He seems to genuinely believe in his values and in what he says...oh no. Welp...

Foliage and fire, baby! With a smattering of earth and ice.
Because Meliahwyl is a Circle of the Land druid, it kind of feels like cheating trying to answer this question. 😅

This is Erelrae! She's a Seldarine Drow whose family escaped to the surface when she was young. She is a Selunite Cleric.

I haven't gotten far in her run and haven't played as her for over a year now, so she isn't very developed yet. I suspect that she'll end up a Gale-mancer.

Plesiosaurs.
No, I won't be adding images.

There is zero explanation for why I have such a visceral reaction to them, of all things. Gore? I was a vet tech! That's fine! Sea maw? Nopenopenope

So Meliahwyl is going to get it too 😂
