So what you have *actually* discovered is that an American family working at minimum wage is *meaningfully better off* in terms of access to real resources than someone on the lower runs of Victorian Britain's educated *urban middle class.*

Quite the opposite of the intended implication!

Anyway, affordability is a problem (build more houses) and we need to bring down costs (build more houses) but I don't think that effort (building more houses) is aided by deceptive comparisons that imply no real increase in living standards since 1843, a thing which is obviously, laughably untrue.

Like we don't think of Carrie Fisher as a nepo baby even though she clearly was, because she was great but also because, eg, Harrison Ford was previously a carpenter and weed dealer, not also a film star's kid. We don't want a world with no Carrie Fishers, but we've got one with no new Fords.

311. Return of the Jedi is the most successful realization of Lucas’s conception of Star Wars as a Flash Gordon style film serial, in the way it jumps from the Jabba’s Palace adventure to the completely different but tangentially connected Battle of Endor.

13. It’s perfectly fine that there are a bunch of secret Jedi banging around after the Purge. Even if there were a thousand of them, the Galaxy is huge. Lucas even suggested 1,000 scattered Jedi survived in one of his earliest drafts.
