I think the two places are a reasonable comparison, but not for the politics, rather the income difference. ND is significantly less wealthy than SF. It wouldn't surprise me if the average SF resident was able to fully follow lock down more than ND residents.

Definitely did the out of my league thing, but it was complicated. I genuinely liked her, but mostly was "into" her because I knew dating her would improve my social standing.
